Connecting to Infrastructure and Other Investment Opportunities in Africa with the African Development Bank
Toronto
June 14, 2018
Marc-André Blanchard, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Canada to the United Nations challenged Canadian companies to pursue the plethora of African Development Bank supported infrastructure investment opportunities in Africa during an informative session on June 14 in Toronto. David Stevenson, African Development Bank Executive Director for Canada, echoed the message saying that Canadian companies stand to miss out on the opportunities to more aggressive companies from other countries. Stella Kilonzo of the African Development Bank outlined the pipeline project that AfDB has developed and will be promoting at its Africa Investment Forum conference in Johannesburg in November. Discussions around financing African projects were covered by Chris Clubb of Convergence Finance and an expert panel moderated by David Creighton including Nate Lowbeer-Lewis (CPCS Ventures), Joel Dido, (EDC), Michael Walsh (Midgard Consulting), and STeve Hobbs (Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships). The morning concluded with presentations by Geoff Murphy and Sue Rauth on working with Global Affairs Canada in Africa and a networking luncheon. A big thanks to seminar partners Global Affairs Canada and African Development Bank and our host for the day, Goodmans LLP. Click on the links below to download the program presentations.
