The Inaugural Gauteng Infrastructure Investment Confernce (GIIC) is taking place at Gallagher Estate, Midrand, Gauteng South African from 16 to 17 July 2015.
The GIIC is convened by the Gauteng Provincil Government as a platform for key roleplayers from the public and private sector to discuss the infrastructure needs and plans for the Gauteng City Region. It will also create the possibility for investors and government to network and identify specific investment opportunities.
The Conference will focus on five areas of infrastructure in which public and private sector investment is necessary, namely: (1) New mega human settlements and post-apartheid cities;
(2) Public transport;
(3) Energy;
(4) ICT and broadband connectivity; and
(5) Aerotropolis.
The conference, with a wide range of speakers and panelists which include policy makers, economists, researchers, bankers, asset managers, property developers and investors, is a key step towards strengthening partnership and collaboration between government and the private sector.
