Bruce Shapiro attended and addressed the Global Trade & Investment event organised by the Global Trade Investment Association on August 10, 2016.  Attendees included business leaders, trade commissioners, consul generals, ambassadors, international sales executives and senior executives.

 

Bruce was able to address the group briefly where he introduced the Canada-Africa Chamber of Business and presented interesting statistics on Africa's standing in international investment - with some surprising figures.  "... Africa is a continent with 54 independent countries and what happens in one country does not necessarily happen in another.  Several African countries are ranked higher as investment destinations than some in Europe, Asia and the Middle East."  Total FDI into Africa in 2015 was 71.3 Billion US for 771 new FDI projects.
