Robert Francki named Canada-Southern Africa Chamber of Business Person of the Year 2013

The Canada-Southern Africa Chamber of Business honoured Robert Francki, global managing director of our PDG group with its Business Person of the Year Award on October 10.
The award recognizes a Canadian resident who has significantly contributed to the growth of bi-lateral business between Canada and Southern Africa. The award is given to a recipient that displays mutual investment between Canada and Southern Africa, actively supports the broad objectives of Southern Africa's economic transformation, and is an advocate for business development.
Chamber board member Rad Dockery presented Robert with the award at the 2013 Indaba event hosted in Toronto. Dockery acknowledged Robert’s great accomplishments throughout the 1990s to initiate and grow Hatch’s presence in Southern Africa as well as Robert’s continuing efforts with Hatch Africa projects and business affairs.
"From the day that Robert and his family arrived in South Africa he developed a leadership program reflecting Hatch’s principles and culture," says Kurt Strobele, chairman of Hatch.
Representatives from !XAM Diamonds, Acacia GAP Inc Infrastructure Africa, Amana Copper, CIM, High Commission of Canada, Ivanhoe Mines, the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada, Eco Atlantic Oil & Gas, MineAfrica Inc, Mining Weekly, Ontario Congolese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, South African Consulate General, South African Department of International Relations & Cooperation and South African High Commission were at the event, while Corinne Boone, Mary Ann Crichton, Joe Lombard, David Neilly, John Pearson, Kurt Strobele, and Bert Wasmund represented Hatch.
